NAIDOC 2022

The Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council will be holding their NAIDOC celebrations at the Trangie Central School. The day will allow students from the three Trangie schools to participate in workshops that include dance, music, cultural art, sports activities and yarning sessions. They day will end with a corroboree event where Aborigjnal dance groups will gather at the Goan water hole at 4:30 to dance.

A free BBQ lunch will be provided.

TRANGIE LOCAL ABORIGINAL LAND COUNCIL

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING INCLUDING THE ELECTION OF THE BOARD OF THE TRANGIE LOCAL ABORIGINAL LAND COUNCIL

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council:

DATE: Thursday 5th September 2019
TIME: 6:00pm
PLACE: 48 Dandaloo Street, Trangie

The meeting will be the annual meeting for the 2018/2019 year and will include the election for the Board of the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council in accordance with the amended Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW).

AGENDA:
1. The receipt of an Annual Report of the activities of the Council, presented by the Chairperson of the Trangie Local Aboriginal land Council, and
2. the receipt of the audited financial statements for the previous financial year, and
3. the election of Board members for the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council Board, and
4. the conduct of any other business placed on the agenda before the commencement of the meeting.

PLEASE NOTE: In regard to election for Board members;

1. Only voting members of the Trangie LALC may vote; nominate a person to stand for election, and stand for election to the Board, AND,
2. A voting member of the Trangie LALC must have attended at least two meetings of the Trangie LALC in the preceding 12 months as a voting member to vote, nominate a person to stand for election, or stand for election to the Board,
3. The Registrar of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act or their delegate is the returning officer for the election 
4. The returning officer shall conduct the election in accordance with the Aboriginal Land Rights Act and Regulations
5. A person may be nominated for the position of board member of the Trangie LALC by; notice in writing received by the returning officer before or when nominations for election are called for; or any voting member present at the meeting
6. Any member of the Trangie LALC may obtain information about this election from the Chief Executive Officer.

SORRY DAY & RECONCILIATION DAY IN TRANGIE

Please join us at the Wungunja Cultural Centre on Tuesday, 28 May at 11am, for the raising of the Aboriginal Flag in recognition of Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week.

The ceremony will include a Welcome to Country, guest speakers and special performances.

This event is organised by Narromine Shire Council in partnership with Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council, Narromine Local Aboriginal Land Council, Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and Ngarru Mayin Aboriginal Corporation.
